KIMONO GIRL
I’m not sure what went out first, this or the one I did for Parokya Ni Edgar guitarist Gab CheeKee (check my previous post). It has been a long time. Anyway, this art piece was recycled from an art commission. Originally, the model I used for the commission had a mask. The piece was fully colored with a different color style, had more detailed lines, and had a background. While doing this, I had the courage in experimenting of makIng art minimally and more “pop”.
This is the time that I realized: 1) I wanna improve on drawing women. 2) For men, more lines. For women, less lines. So I lessened my lines. And kept my detailed lines on the hair. I can talk about inspiration of the patterns I used next time. But, yeah, I did enjoy doing this. It’s one of my first works that I can claim a personal art achievement. Eventually, I developed a knack for women in kimono on how elegant and reserved they are. All for now.
